There is immense scope for development of technologies related to aquaculture industry. Specifically, huge constructions of various structures can now be replaced by using small mobile fiber or plastic structures which are proved to be very efficient. We have tested some structures like mobile carp hatchery, it is very cost effective, easy to operate and efficient as RCC constructed hatchery.
Likewise, use of plastic lining for aqua ponds proved to be very efficient. Such liners can help in restricting the water seepage, hence ground water pollution and also leeching of nutrients. better results were obtained over earthen ponds. This technology become very popular in farmers of Maharashtra State. Our potential problem is the weathering of plastic, initial cost. I am looking for solving these two problems. It we could able to find solution for this problem, certainly, there will be surprising boom in aquaculture industry.
